Temporary Cafe Closure

Firstly, I wish to thank all of our supporters for the kind offers of help after we announced we would be closed for a week due to water damage caused by recent heavy rainfall – it is much appreciated.

Unfortunately, the damage to the building has been evaluated, and it was concluded the damage to part of the building is significant; this has implications for Rotherham Rise’s community cafe Hygge.

It means that the Hygge café will be closed for a temporary period while essential repairs are completed. I wish to thank everyone who, over the last few years, has shown such incredible support for the community cafe.

Hygge is part of the registered charity Rotherham Rise, being a hub for community activities and groups. We will be able to continue to facilitate and offer some of our planned activities and groups from Rise House, which Hygge is located in. We’ve learned since starting Hygge that providing these groups is vital and benefits many people in Rotherham, and our priority is to continue this; it will take our team a little time to reorganise, so please bear with us while we transition.

We will let you know of any updates through our social media channels, so please keep checking back and providing your support.
